I started learning nihon buyo when i was 28 years old. In nihon buyo, you use a lot of your core and muscles, unlike its appearance. I had learned ballet, creative dance, jazz dance, etc, and i really liked dancing, so i quickly decided to learn nihon buyo.

At that time, i was working hard and wanted to have something different, like a traditional japanese hobby, apart from my daily routine. Nihon buyo is generally known to be a style of dance originating from kabuki dances, most of which were made during the edo period. I started learning nihon buyo when i was 28 years old. The buyo dance form is essentially a combination of dance and mimicry, the purpose of which is ‘to entertain’.
